Oh, summer.
You've been good to us. So much sunshine, perfect windy days that aren't too hot or too cool. Lots of playing in the sandbox in the backyard, throwing rocks into the lake and pushing the swing until my hands felt like they were going to fall off. Playing in mud puddles and pushing the wagon around for blocks. Our garden hasn't done so well, this soil is so rough, but at least the cucumbers are pretty big!
I'm almost not ready to say goodbye. Sweater weather is my favorite, but having a happy toddler splashing around in the pool and drawing with chalk all over the sidewalk has been just heaven. But fall does mean hot chocolate, crunchy leaves she can jump in for the first time, pumpkin patches and apple picking.. There's something new to love about every reason, but I'm not quite sure I'm ready to say goodbye to summer yet.
