We had an amazing day picking apples out in the country!

M is a good listener and I didn't even know it! ;) For weeks I have been saying we have had no time to do anything as a family, and it's true. Between me nannying 4 days a week and him working full time as a chef, we really have not had much time to enjoy time together lately. We are planning a vacation in the next few weeks (details soon..!) but I was craving a good family outing. So this morning, after getting me breakfast, M took us all apple picking.

We went to a farm about a half an hour away that was recommended to me by a friend (thanks Cris!!). The orchard has about 18 different types of apples, but we are not apple connoisseurs and picked up about five pounds of Lobo apples to make some apple crisp with later this week. We sat under the trees with Emmy for most of the morning, enjoying the early fall weather and some sweet apples.

M had to go to work pretty soon after we got home, but it was a lovely surprise that I have been happy about all day. Spending time with my little family is the best gift I could ask for -- cheesy, but true! Emmy and I have been snacking on apples all day. I forget how much I love fall until it's here!
