As the weather gets more and more beautiful, I'll be posting a lot more of the Kingston Babywearing Project! I already have so many mamas lined up for the next few weeks who are interested in having their portraits taken for the project and I'm so excited that this project is blowing up! Our babywearing group is constantly growing and I can't wait to meet some more babywearing parents!
The other day I met up with one of my favourite mamas and a personal friend of mine, Marissa, and her son Casper bright and early to snap some photos by the famous Kingston waterfront.
Kingston is known for it's beautiful waterfront. Located on the gorgeous Lake Ontario, Kingston has many marinas, is famous for it's fresh water sailing (we hosted the sailing events for the 1976 Olympics!), and it's amazing views make for amazing trails which you can always find people jogging on -- even in the middle of winter. Across the lake here you can see some wind turbines on Wolfe Island, which I hope to also feature in the future as part of this project...!
Marissa is wearing a Sakura Bloom sling in Raven and had this to say about it, "Out of all the carriers I've tried it's the most versatile and the one I go to most often because of the ease in which it goes on, and it's compact nature. The fact it can be balled up and thrown in a purse and baby can be in and out in seconds. Plus it goes with my outfits more than a SSC ;)"
- What's your favorite thing about babywearing? Which leads into my favourite thing about babywearing, the obvious closeness that it provides. It provides baby with the comfort of your touch and heartbeat and closeness but also giving you the ability to function on a human level while still providing these things to your child. When do you rely most on babywearing? I rely most on babywearing for outings. With 3 kids in two a lot of the time or at least 2, having one strapped to me just makes everything more manageable. It also gives me the ability to do mundane tasks like housework and cooking while tending to a fussy, clingy baby.
